Margaret R. "Mague" Sanchez

CASA GRANDE - Margaret R. "Mague" Sanchez, 87, died at home on Oct. 4, 2019, with her family by her side.

Mrs. Sanchez was born on Aug. 6, 1932, to Nicholas Rangel and Lorenza Hernandez. She was born and raised in Casa Grande and a lifelong resident. She met the love of her life when she was 11 and married Ramon B. Sanchez when she was 18. They raised seven children. She devoted most of her life to her parish and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School. She volunteered as a teacher's aide and ran the snack bar at bingo. She and her husband sang in the choir for many years.

After the death of her husband, she raised her three youngest children on her own and went to work to support them. She retired from the public schools and continued to sing at church for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all loved her cooking, especially her menudo and tamales. She enjoyed going to casinos and playing bingo.

Survivors include four adult children, Terry S. Casey, Luis R., Samuel R. and Geraldo R. Sanchez, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and three children, Ramon R. Sanchez Jr., Manuel R. and Gabriel R. Sanchez.

Rosary recited at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with celebration of Mass following.
