Malissa Rose Martinez

SAN LUIS VILLAGE - Malissa Rose Martinez, 90, died on June 30, 2014, at Archie Hendricks Sr. Skilled Nursing Facility in Sells.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Catholic mission in San Luis Village. A wake will follow. Burial will be early Monday in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Santa Rosa Village.

Ms. Martinez was born on Jan. 27, 1924, in Santa Rosa. She was a homemaker and a basket weaver. She made dresses and enjoyed gardening. She always encouraged her nephew to go to school and chased him to catch the school bus.

Survivors include a nephew, Joseph Andrews of Sells.
