Lupe G. Fernandez

CASA GRANDE - Lupe G. Fernandez, 92, of Tucson died on Oct. 13, 2019.

Mrs. Fernandez was born on May 21, 1927, in Tucson to Esteban and Guadalupe Garcia. She loved to swing dance and listen to music and was a Diamondbacks fan. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing.

Survivors include five daughters and sons, Diane M. Mitchell of Oracle, Ruben S. Fernandez of Tucson, David D. Fernandez of Tucson, Esther I. Fernandez of Tucson and Jerry D. Fernandez of Tucson; a sister, Grace Avila of Tucson; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve M., and eight brothers, Antonio, Nicolas, Esteban, Jesus, Manuel, Reginaldo, Arnulfo and Carlos Garcia.

Visitation beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 1:30 and funeral Mass celebrated at 2. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
