SACATON - Louis Leo Morago Sr., 100, of Sacaton died May 3, 2008 at Gilbert Mercy Hospital.


The funeral will be at 8 a.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with Pastor John Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.

Mr. Morago was born July 15, 1907 in Tucson and was a son of Kisto and Jessie Morago. His grandfather Louis Morago was an Apache war hero and a scout for the U.S. government. Mr. Morago was a teacher and also was a stand-in for the role of Tonto on "The Lone Ranger" television program.

Survivors include a son, Louis Morago Jr. of Elk Grove, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Otis and Jayro Morago, and three sisters, Edith, Louise and Eunice Morago.
