Leonard H. Dickey

January 1, 1929 — March 23, 2006

Born in Fredrick, Okla.; but made his lifelong home in Casa Grande. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. He and his wife, Mercy Ann, formerly owned and operated the F.T. Rainey Agency, and his integrity made him a respected businessman for 30 years. He also owned the Otter Slide, which provided summer water fun for Casa Grande youth and families. He was a life member of Elks. He spent much time exploring the desert he loved. His greatest joy came from his membership in the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society. He practiced his desert four-wheeling skills and taught his children both respect and appreciation for the desert and its wildlife. His focus was always on others, and his laugh was as big as his spirit.
