Lambert Harlan Cross

TUCSON - Lambert Harlan Cross, 67, of Tucson died on March 30, 2014, at University Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Cross home, 5422 S. Madison Stravenue, and from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sells District conference room in Sells. A wake will begin at 6 p.m. at Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church in Casa Blanca. The graveside service will be at 7 a.m. Monday in Vah-Ki Cemetery, with Chaplain Jack Trevino officiating.

Mr. Cross was born on March 19, 1947, in Bapchule and was a son of Leonard Houston and Carlila Cross. A military veteran, he worked for U.S. Customs and retired after 32 years.

He helped at-risk children and taught his native O’odham language. He enjoyed travel, hunting, teaching tracking skills, spending time with his grandchildren, listening to gospel music and playing bass guitar. He loved his family and spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife, Hutchie; a daughter, Charlotte Cross-Garcia of Marana; four sons, Alvin Cross of Window Rock, Davy Cross of Nolic Village, Tony and Waylon Cross of Tucson; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona and Beverly Manuel.
