Kenneth "Kenny" Jacob

September 29, 1961 — June 6, 2013

Kenneth “Kenny” Jacob, 51, a 23-year resident of Casa Grande, died on June 6, 2013, at Medisys Assisted Living, where he had lived for the past 16 months.
A celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with Pastor Harley Faber officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. John Arnold.
Mr. Jacob was born on Sept. 29, 1961, in Brentwood on Long Island, N.Y., and was a son of Carmen and Fred Jacob. In 1982 he and his family moved to Malone, N.Y., where he worked at North Star Industries and was a member of the Special Olympics cross-country skiing and bowling teams. In 1990 they moved to Casa Grande, where he began a long career working at AFH, formerly known as Arizona Foundation for the Handicapped. His favorite job for many years was working at Food City on Florence Boulevard, stocking, cleaning shelves and helping wherever needed. He had many friends at Food City and all over Casa Grande.
He was on the Special Olympics bowling team in Casa Grande and enjoyed riding his bike around the Fairways community. Other favorite pastimes included dancing, swimming and watching the Diamondbacks. He was a big fan of the TV soap opera “The Young and the Restless” as well as “Dallas,” “The A-Team,” “Good Times,” “M*A*S*H” and “The Lawrence Welk Show.” He played bingo at the Fairways clubhouse every Monday. Nothing made him happier than to win a game and share his good fortune with everyone. Most of all he loved his family. He shared his gifts of laughter and compassion with everyone.
He is survived by his parents, of Casa Grande, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Andrew and Loretta Zabala; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Josephine Jacob; and godparents, Lucia and Dimas Goitia.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice Compassus, 1675 E. Monument Plaza Circle, Casa Grande, AZ 85122.
