FLORENCE — Kema Granillo, 68, a retired justice of the peace, died on May 8, 2013, in Chandler.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God in Florence. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in Florence Cemetery.
Ms. Granillo was born on April 13, 1945, in Valliant, Okla., and was a daughter of Fred and Myrtle Kellams. She worked for the Pinal County Justice Courts for more than 20 years and served as justice of the peace in the Coolidge-Florence area for two terms.
She was friendly, outgoing, outspoken, supportive, well known and well liked. She enjoyed music, travel, going to casinos and cooking Mexican food. She touched the lives of her family and friends, was a second mom to many and loved being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristy Garcia of Chandler; four sisters, Patsy Frazier of Fernley, Nev., Susie Matlock of Alamogordo, N.M., Linda Bechtel of Chandler and Shirlene Denny of Jay, Okla.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Chuck, Jim and Dale Kellams.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
