June Francois

August 23, 1927 — January 12, 2011

June Marion Van Remortel Francois passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2011. She was born in De Pere, Wisconsin in 1927 to Philip and Mary Van Remortel. She met her husband and the love of her life, Jack, in 1946, when she was hired to sing in his band. June and Jack raised seven children, beginning in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and eventually moving to Arizona City in 1964. She continued her singing career with numerous combos, and served as a vocal soloist and with Jack as a song leader at St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande for over 20 years. June was an avid Packers and Diamondbacks fan. She also loved playing cards with her Prescott friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
June is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack, and her seven children: Karen (Kelly) Quinn, Tom Francois, Cindy (Jerry) Francois, Steve (Debbie) Francois, Barbara (Lytle) Rieffer, Brian (Laura) Francois, and Mary (Truett) Rosenbam. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her sisters Phyllis Counihan, Mary Jane Van Remortel and Dottie Gerrits (all of Wisconsin). She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold (Bud) Van Remortel. Rosary and visitation will be held Sun., Jan. 16 from 6pm-8pm at J. Warren Funeral Services Cole & Maud Gardens Chapel. Funeral mass will be on Mon., Jan. 17 at 1pm at St. Anthony of Padua in Casa Grande. J. Warren Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
