Julie Kay Douglas

July 19, 1946 — March 25, 2021

Julie Kay (Ramsey) Douglas was born July 19th, 1946 in Salina, KS. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1968 and then taught at Schilling Elementary School in Salina. In 1978, she moved to Casa Grande, Arizona, where she resided for over 40 years. There she taught the Curriculum Enrichment Program throughout the school district. Julie spearheaded and conducted many fun and interesting field trips for her students. She and her teacher friends took them on trips to the Phoenix Zoo, the Scripps Aquarium in La Jolla, California, and other unique places. Julie loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved traveling around the country and taking world cruises. Her special pleasure was cooking huge breakfasts for her grandkids. Julie and Kenny’s summer home in Pinetop was a favorite getaway.

Julie and Kenny Douglas celebrated their 36th anniversary on the first day of Spring, 2021. Passing away on March 25th, she leaves three children: Christine Willour (Jason) of Tucson, AZ, Kelly Reade (Sean) of Colebrook, Ontario, Canada, and Kyle Douglas (Stephanie) of Destin, FL, and six grandchildren: Bailey, Brayden, Beausoleil, Sedona, Paige and Grant.

A small family gathering will be held at the home in Casa Grande. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ (hov.org).
