Julian Nava

Julian Nava, 83, of Casa Grande died June 20, 2008 at home.


Visitation was held June 24 at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, followed by rosary recital. Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, June 25 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Bardo Antunez. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mr. Nava was born Feb. 12, 1925 in Cameron, Texas, and was a son of Juvencio and Manuela Nava. He was a fertilizer company delivery driver. He loved his family and gatherings, and his family was the most important thing to him. He also loved Spanish music.

Survivors include 10 sons and daughters, Felix and Mario Nava of Casa Grande, Minerva Nava of Lancaster, Calif., Fernando Nava of Inglewood, Calif., Louis Nava of Casa Grande, David Sandoval of Phoenix, Melba Nava of Arizona City, Rachel Nava of Casa Grande, Marta Nava of Apache Junction and Maria Nava of Casa Grande; 19 brothers and sisters, Serapio Nava of Casa Grande, Hilberto Nava of Tiffin, Ohio, Inez Cardenas of Palmdale, Calif., Angie Rivera of Mexico, Josie Gamez of Casa Grande, Modesta Nava of Lancaster, Esteban Nava, Genoveva Harvill, Flora and Manuela Nava, Yolanda Olvera, Julia Nava and Janie Mendivil, all of Casa Grande, Juvencio Nava Jr. of Los Angeles, Delia Nava of Casa Grande, Aniceto Nava of Palmdale, Sylvia Woodward of Scottsdale, Ricardo Nava of Maricopa and Paul Nava of Palmdale; 31 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hortencia M.; a son, Julian Nava Jr.; a sister, Anna Teresa Nava; and two brothers, Felix and Gabriel Nava.
