Julia De La Cruz

Julia De La Cruz, 78, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday,
September 4, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family.
Julia was born on Thursday, September 21, 1939 in Weslaco, Texas
to Victor and Alvesa Guerra. Julia entered into marriage with
Jesus De La Cruz on Friday, December 28, 1956 in Florence, Arizona.
She was a resident of Casa Grande for 59 years and a member
of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she held a
strong belief in her Catholic faith. Julia deeply loved and enjoyed her
family. She took pleasure in cooking and sewing. She liked Tejano
music and bingo. She also liked to travel and was fond of tulips. Julia
had a passion for baseball and was an Arizona Diamondbacks fan. She
was very passionate about her home state of Texas and was a Dallas
Cowboys fan. Julia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who
will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
Julia is greeted in Heaven by her beloved husband, Jesus De La Cruz;
her parents, Victor and Alvesa Guerra; her three brothers, Guadalupe
Guerra, Jesus Guerra and Salomon Guerra; and her two great-granddaughters,
Alexus Marie Hagar and Desiray Alexus Hagar.
Julia is survived by her loving 11 children, Rick De La Cruz (Cherryl)
of Casa Grande, Arizona, Seege Callaghan (Dana) of San Diego, California,
Jesse De La Cruz of Casa Grande, Arizona, Rachel McHaney (Brett)
of Adams, Tennessee, Marina VanOstran (Mark) of St. Johns, Michigan,
Ida Soliz (Danny) of Casa Grande, Arizona, Oscar De La Cruz of Casa
Grande, Arizona, Gloria McWatters (Chris) of Winter Haven, Florida,
Helen Woodcock (Ricky) of Casa Grande, Arizona, Sophia Pineda (Lupe)
of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Anna Roman (Paul) of Phoenix, Arizona;
her five siblings, Avelina Hernandez (Luis) of Pennsylvania, Hermelinda
Flores (Gerardo) of Texas, Marcelina Munguia (Ruben) of Illinois,
Juan Guerra (Delia) of Illinois, and Susie Guerra of Texas; her 21 grandchildren;
her 28 great-grandchildren; her one great-great-grandchild;
many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her friends.
A Celebration of Julia’s life will begin with her family greeting extended
family and friends on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
at The Gardens Chapel, J. Warren Funeral Services, 525 North Peart
Road, Casa Grande, Arizona 85122. Rosary will be recited Friday evening
at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated
in Julia’s honor on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St.
Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Ariel Lustan officiating.
Holy burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Casa Grande, Arizona.
