Juanita Garcia

BLACKWATER - Juanita Venita Garcia, 64, died on Nov. 13, 2013.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at the District 1 Multipurpose Building. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Mission. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
Ms. Garcia was born on April 9, 1949, in Picacho. She was a homemaker and a people person sometimes called "Sweet Juan-neats." A resident of Blackwater for about 35 years, she enjoyed visiting, and her home was the gathering place for friends and family. She was a great cook, and hot tamales were among her favorite meals to prepare. She enjoyed needlepoint, sewing and music.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Francisco of Blackwater; three sons, Floyd, Kenneth and Bernard Francisco, all of Blackwater; a sister, Margie Baptisto of Blackwater; a brother, Meleomio Velasco of Tucson; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Lupe Garcia; a brother, Carlos Garcia; and a sister, Juanita Salazar.
