Juan D. Gonzalez

COOLIDGE - Juan D. Gonzalez, 66, of Coolidge died March 27, 2007 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 6. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park.

Mr. Gonzalez was born March 28, 1940 in Mexico to Simon and Inez Gonzalez. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years as an E-7. He later had another career with the Arizona Department of Corrections and retired as a supervisor after 18' years.

He played guitar and enjoyed all types of music. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. He could always find time to spoil his grandchildren. He was very caring and was known for his sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Olivia (Villarreal); a daughter, Noemi Rodriguez of Coolidge; a son, Noe Gonzalez of Coolidge; a sister, Chrisanta Gonzalez of Colorado; three brothers, Efrain, Simon and Abdon Gonzalez, all of Colorado; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sophia Coronado and Juanita Perez.
