Josephine V. Yesk

TOPAWA VILLAGE - Josephine V. Yesk, 94, died on Oct. 30, 2014, at Caring House in Sacaton.

The celebration of life will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Sells. Burial will be in Topawa Cemetery.

Mrs. Yesk was born on March 22, 1920, in Topawa and was a daughter of Charles Ventura and Petra Challo. She was a homemaker and a big Phoenix Suns fan who loved to cook and make tortillas. She loved all her grandchildren dearly and also loved travel and reading. She was a very strong woman who liked to work outside and garden. She provided for her family as best she could.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Ventura of Phoenix and David L. Yesk of Lower Santan; two daughters, Cecelia Miller and Tonita Castillo of Phoenix; 25 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan R. Yesk; a son, Wayne Ventura; a brother, Lawrence Ventura; two sisters, Rosita Hill and Margaret Harvey; and three grandchildren, Matthew Ventura, Dennis Perry and Jamie Escalante.
