Joseph Salazar

PHOENIX - Joseph Salazar Sr., 81, of Phoenix and formerly of Ajo, died on Aug. 23, 2020.

Mr. Salazar was born on Oct. 31, 1938. He worked for Phelps Dodge before retirement. He loved listening to oldies, cruising and watching bull riding on TV.

He also loved spending time with his family, including his grandchildren, and enjoyed eating at the Fry Bread House.

Survivors include a daughter and son, Bernadine Valenzuela and Roland Salazar; 20 grandchildren; and 14-plus great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Wathogoma, and four sons, Joseph Salazar Jr., Paul, Clarence and Warren Salazar.
