Jose E. “Joe” Martinez, 91, of Casa Grande, AZ, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022. Joe was born to Ester Maria and Otoniel Martinez in Questa, New Mexico.

He loved making new friends, singing, playing the guitar, and socializing with everyone. Joe was a good friend to all and touched many hearts. He could make people laugh with his playful sense of humor. Joe loved to travel the open roads and knew every road from memory. If you had the chance to sit and talk with him, you were guaranteed to hear some great stories that only he could tell.

Joe was an honorable and humble man who lived a full and rewarding life. He was known to be very giving and kind, and always gave of himself while asking nothing in return. Joe was a hard-working and supportive man who set an example for his family to follow. He was completely devoted to his family and made sure they remained together and happy.

A man of unwavering faith, he proudly carried out his duties as a soldier, provided for his family, and cared deeply for those around him. He was much appreciated, admired, and respected by all who knew him. We will never forget the unending stories, memories and laughs. A man of strength and modest humility, he will forever leave an imprint on those he left behind.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eutimia, of 56 years. His parents, a sister, Priscilla (George), and a great-grandson Anthony. He is survived by his brother, Romulo, and late wife (Juanita) and a sister, Carmen (Lee). Six children, Ernesto (Toni Ann), Nadine (Bruce), Wilma (Jeff), Victor, Esther (Louis) and Deseri (Narciso), 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at J. Warren Funeral Home on Friday, March 11 at 5:00pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 12 at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

Masks are optional.
