Jose B. Ruiz

CASA GRANDE - Jose B. Ruiz, 87, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 21, 2020.

Mr. Ruiz was born on April 16, 1933, in Eloy and was a son of Jesus Mungia Ruiz and Carmen Baldenegro Ruiz. A lifelong area resident, he was well known in the construction business for his dedication to his work and his precision, which he passed on to several of his sons.

He married Nellie Rangel in Florence on June 24, 1950. He was a self-taught musician and played various guitars, accordion, trumpet, saxophone and piano and loved to sing with his friends. He loved going to casinos and being around his family. He also loved to tell a good joke.

Survivors include 12 daughters and sons, Carmen Tapia, Stella Morris, Martha Torres, Margaret Ramirez, Mary Cox, Sally Heet, Joseph, Jesse, Robert, Ruben, John and Albert Ruiz, all of Casa Grande; two sisters, Eleanor Vanderslice of Casa Grande and Alicia Quintero of Eloy; 42 grandchildren; 96 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; five brothers, Fernando, Alfredo, Lionel, Ernesto and Jesus Ruiz; and a sister, Isabel Rivas.
