Johnny Deeringwater

MESA - Johnny Ray Deeringwater, 50, of Mesa died on March 29, 2014, at Friendship Village.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ferguson Memorial Baptist Church, 1512 E. McDowell Road in Mesa. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Steve Fox officiating. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery, Casa Blanca.

Mr. Deeringwater was born on Dec. 1, 1963, in Phoenix. He was a mason working in construction and loved sports, especially baseball, basketball and football. He played semipro baseball for the Cubs year round. He liked to fish and was a hard worker who loved to work. He loved life and his family and was well-liked.

Survivors include a daughter, Melina Canto of Tolleson; his mother, Richenda Deeringwater of Mesa; two sisters, Linda Tarness of Mesa and Cindy Deeringwater of Phoenix; and a grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan E., and his father, John Deeringwater.
