AK-CHIN - Joann P. Pablo, 66, of Ak-Chin died on Sept. 20, 2014, at Symphony of Mesa.

The wake will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at her home. The funeral will be at 6 a.m. Friday at Ak-Chin Bible Church, with Pastor Epifanio Baniagua officiating. Burial will be in Ak-Chin Cemetery.

Mrs. Pablo was born on Aug. 28, 1948, in Chuichu and was a daughter of Francis Antone Sr. and Bertha Young. She was a homemaker and was very traditional, always aspiring to maintain her Tohono O’odham culture. She was loving and dedicated to her family and loved to sit outdoors and watch the people in her community come and go.

Survivors include six sons and daughters, Douglas Pablo, Maynard Pablo Sr., Cleo Pablo, Sheila Pablo Bandin, Clorenda Humeyumptewa and Manford Pablo, all of Ak-Chin; a brother, Francis Antone Jr. of Ak-Chin; a sister, Geneva Antone of Ak-Chin; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry S.; a son, Christopher Pablo; a brother, Leon Vavages; two sisters, Esther Narcia and Ruth Joe; her grandmother Mary Young; and her parents.
