Jessie Vasquez

ELOY - Jessie Vasquez, 54, of Eloy died on Sept. 6, 2013, at home.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 by the Rev. Alonzo Garcia.
Mr. Vasquez was born on April 3, 1959, in Eloy. He graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School and worked at the Dust Bowl Theater as a young man. He formerly was a U.S. immigration corrections officer.
He loved fishing, hunting, music, singing, cookouts, dancing, playing bingo at casinos and taking his nephews, nieces and other kids out to Picacho Reservoir. Kids loved him and doing things with him, and he gave them nicknames. He enjoyed his pet, Lizzy. He was called Big Man by his family and Cuatro by his friends.
Survivors include a son, Christian Vasquez of Florence; two sisters, Adela Villarreal and Isabel Gutierrez of Eloy; three brothers, David Vasquez of Casa Grande, Martin Vasquez of San Diego and Ambrosio Vasquez of Maricopa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teresa Tarango and Jesus Vasquez Sr.
