ELOY - Jane Grey Garner, 89, died on Feb. 18, 2015, at her newly acquired home in Eloy.

Ms. Garner was born to John "Jack" and Ada Barham Weaver on May 6, 1925, in Washington, D.C., and was one of three children. She graduated from high school in Edinburg, Virginia, in 1942, and went to business college in Woodstock, Virginia, where she graduated with a business degree. Shortly thereafter she went to work at the Library of Congress in the personnel department. She also worked at Woodward & Lothrop, an upscale department store in the Washington area.

In 1954 she met Charles L. Garner on a cruise to Bermuda and moved in 1955 to Las Vegas, Nevada. There she had twins. In 1975 she returned to Shenandoah County, Virginia, with her son and spent the next 39 years there. She was listed in "Who’s Who in America." Last November, she moved to Arizona with her son. In June 1964, she was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness and was faithful to Jehovah God after that, even though in later years she had been in declining health.

She is survived by a brother, Jack Weaver; a son, Mark Garner; a daughter, Martha Robards; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
