James Ned Zavitka

MARICOPA - James Ned Zavitka, 96, of Maricopa died on February 22, 2023.

Mr. Zavitka was born on April 16, 1926, in Elba, Nebraska, to James and Josephine Zavitka. After serving his country in WWII, he played semi-pro baseball as a pitcher. He and his wife lived in the San Francisco Bay Area where Mr. Zavitka got a business degree from USF. Mr. Zavitka worked hard to support his family and was a truck driver with the teamsters, working for and later retiring from Lowrie Paving.

He loved gardening, playing cards, and going to the casino. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Ann Zavitka; and is survived by four adult children. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
