ELOY — James William Mulder, 88, of Eloy died on Aug. 10, 2011, at home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel, with Darwin Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Mulder was born on Sept. 13, 1922, in Orange City, Iowa. He served in World War II as a B-17 gunner and was a sergeant. He later was a lineman for Arizona Public Service Co. for 30 years before retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, building and carpentry work. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include three sons, John, James and Jeffrey D. Mulder, all of Phoenix; two daughters, Sandy Swanson of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Carol Mulder of Scottsdale; a brother, Gerard Mulder of Orange City; seven sisters, Margaret Top, Mary Lou Reinders, Winifred Kalsbeek and Doris Vogel, all of Orange City, Linda Peitens of DeKalb, Ill., Alene Ritsema of Aurora, Colo., and Helen Mulder of Oelwein, Iowa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; a brother, Paul Mulder; and three sisters, Martha Buschbach, Betty Reinders and Luella Wallinga.
