Iona Fay "Blue" Scott

February 28, 1954 — October 30, 2015

CASA GRANDE - Iona Fay "Blue" Scott, 61, died on Oct. 30, 2015.

Ms. Scott was born on Feb. 28, 1954, in Nebraska to Mildred Pierce and Elvis Smith. She later moved to California, where she raised her only daughter, and in 1998 to Casa Grande. She was known for her generosity and kindness and always had a smile.

She was an avid gardener and was especially fond of roses, and she was known as the "Rose Lady." She loved music and dancing. Her battle against cancer was inspirational, and she never let it shake her indomitable spirit. She was a member of Desert Sky Baptist Church. She had five "sisters in life," Stephine Mills of Nevada, Carla Thurston of Oregon, Jill Genera of California, Susie McCarthy of Colorado and Kim Wooten of California, and a now-deceased "brother in life," Micheal P. Dunnigan.

Survivors include a daughter, Christina D. Lee of Arizona; three sisters, Barbara Rains of Arizona, Mary Cash and Karen Smith of California; and three brothers, Russel and Daryell Moore of Nebraska and Woody Pierce of Mississippi.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Desert Sky Baptist Church, with Pastor Lewis Foster officiating.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
