Glenn Kenneth "Kenny" Smith

CASA GRANDE - Glenn Kenneth "Kenny" Smith, 71, of Casa Grande died on March 18, 2016.

Mr. Smith was born in Lima, Ohio, in 1944 to Glenn W. and Ruby (Faurot) Smith. He married Linda Lou Welty of Kenton, Ohio, in December 1964, and they just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. He graduated from Alger High School in 1962. He joined the Naval Reserve while still in high school and was called to active military duty in August 1964.

After his military service, he moved his family to Arizona, where he grew alfalfa for five years in Parker and then worked as a technician and supervisor for the telephone company in Pinetop for 26 years before retiring in 2006. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Pinetop-Lakeside, where he enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. He and Linda moved to Casa Grande in 2009 to be closer to children and grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golf and softball.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Adrienne A. Gardner of Mesa and Janine D. Little of Casa Grande; a son, Todd M. Smith of Dowagiac, Michigan; two brothers, Dwayne Smith of Pinetop-Lakeside and Jerry Smith of Crocker, Missouri; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held later at Community Presbyterian Church in Pinetop-Lakeside.
