Gerald Wilmer Parsons

SANTAN - Gerald Wilmer Parsons, 68, of Santan died on July 8, 2020.

Mr. Parsons was born on June 19, 1952, in Sacaton to Wilmer L. Parsons and Tessie Lewis. He enjoyed living on the Gila River Indian Community. He saw other parts of the United States and world while serving in the Army but always came back home.

He loved sports and played softball and volleyball in his younger years. Even after his health started to wane, he stayed active with chair volleyball. He enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and his fellow elders. He looked forward to elder trips and was happy to be traveling again after his kidney transplant. He never met a slot machine he didn't like.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter, Vincent, Steven and David Parsons and Sheryl Uk; three siblings, Sylvia Antone, his twin Geraldine Parsons and Vernon Parsons; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon and Russell Parsons.
