Gary Vavages

UPPER SANTAN — Gary Lynn Vavages, 57, died on Oct. 8, 2009 in Ayer, Mass.

The wake will begin at 6 p.m. today at the Vavages home in Upper Santan. The graveside service will be at 7 a.m. Thursday in Vah-Ki Cemetery.

Mr. Vavages was born on June 6, 1952 in Sacaton. He worked for the Gila River Indian Community. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, gardening and cooking.

Survivors include a brother, Dauron Lewis of Santan, and three sisters, Dealva, Nandina and Laverda Lewis, all of Santan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lenard Vavages and Elsie Lewis, and a brother, Donley Vavages.
