Gabriel Miller

BLACKWATER — Gabriel Francis Miller, 45, of Blackwater died on June 24, 2011.
The wake will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the District 1 Service Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Mission. Burial will be in North Blackwater Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born on Jan. 1, 1966, in Sacaton. He attended St. Peter Elementary School and Sherman Indian High School and graduated in 1984. He attended college for a short while before joining the Marine Corps in 1985. After serving four years he came home and married.
He worked in construction and enjoyed helping people in his community. He also enjoyed visiting and talking with friends and family, cooking and music.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Ann; a daughter, Amy Miller of Blackwater; his father and stepmother, Elmer Miller Sr. and Erlinda Miller of Santan; six brothers, Elmer Miller Jr., James, Alvin and Patrick Miller, all of Santan, Matthew Santos of Phoenix and Lorenzo Santos of Mesa; and three sisters, Elmira Johns of Santan, Elmerlene Miller of Sacaton and Evelyn Crook of Supai. He was preceded in death by his mother, Madeline Miller; two brothers, Alfred and Edward Miller; and two sisters, Elra and Michelle Miller.
