G. T. Tipton

Born in Ada, Okla., a son of Gilbert and Lois Tipton. The family moved to Eloy in 1945 where he met his future wife of 48 years, Phyllis, in a strawberry field near Portland, OR when he was 22. They married in Washington state and moved to Arizona. He owned and operated G.T. Tipton Trucking, and was known to his grandchildren as "Papa". He loved fishing and spending his Sundays watching NASCAR races on television.
