Francisco Joe Mattia

Francisco Joe “Cisco” Mattia, 88, of Ak-Chin died on Aug. 12, 2022.

Mr. Mattia was born on the Tohono O'odham Nation on Oct. 7, 1933, to Jose Mattia and Maria Escalante.
He was a good, strong man. He enjoyed many things such as riding his bike, going hunting and listening to mariachi music.
He was a kindhearted man who loved his family and enjoyed being around friends.

He is survived by four daughters and a son, Martha, Leonard, Cynthia, Janice and Joanna Mattia; three siblings, Elizabeth Henry, Sally Johnston and Christine Mattia; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Armida; a son, Tony Mattia; and six siblings.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, at the family home, 45236 W. Pablo Ave. Graveside service at 6 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
