Frances Montijo Calvo

ELOY - Frances Montijo Calvo, 79, died on Jan. 20, 2020, in Eloy.

Mrs. Calvo was born in Eloy on Sept. 29, 1940, to Reynaldo and Aurelia Montijo. She enjoyed spending time with family, was known as a football critic and enjoyed going shopping.

She loved spending time with her sister and best friend, Gloria Ruiz. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister Lupe in Fresno, California. She was a member of St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church.

Survivors include six daughters and sons, Irene Patino of Eloy, Gloria Leija of Casa Grande, Irma Garcia of Coolidge, Joel M. Leija of Eloy, Jaime Leija of Casa Grande and Javier Leija of Chandler; two sisters, Gloria Ruiz of Eloy and Lupe Frausto of California; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loreto Calvo; four brothers; and six sisters.

Visitation beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Helen of the Cross Church, with rosary recited at 9 and funeral Mass celebrated at 9:30.
