CHUICHU — Floyd Patrick Young, 74, of ChuiChu died on Aug. 11, 2012, at home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church. A wake will follow at the Young home, beginning at 8 p.m. Burial will be at 6 a.m. Saturday in ChuiChu South Cemetery.
Mr. Young was born on Jan. 5, 1938, in ChuiChu and was a son of John and Elizabeth Antone Young. He attended St. Johns High School, where he met his future wife, Maxine C. He joined the Marine Corps right out of high school in 1954 and served until 1966. He was a miner for 15 years and later worked in landscaping with his sons.
He and Maxine married on July 7, 1960, in ChuiChu. He enjoyed playing baseball for the ChuiChu Cowboys and later was a coach for the team. He loved watching sports and old westerns, being with his family and friends, and having a good time.
In addition to his wife, with whom he recently celebrated 52 years of marriage, survivors include three sons, Lloyd Young of San Carlos, Kelvin and Benjamin Young of ChuiChu; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Young Murrietta.
