Evangelina Tapia

Evangelina A. Tapia, 85, of Casa Grande died July 29, 2011 at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited there at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Tapia was born Oct. 17, 1925 in Sasabe, Ariz. She was married to Reynaldo Tapia for 67 years and was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, making tortillas outside, camping, playing bingo and going to their summer home in Lakeside. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and Las Guadalupanas.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, George, Eugene “Tootsie” and Christopher "Guy,"all of Casa Grande; two daughters, Marie Tejada and Mary “Macie” McDonald, both of Casa Grande; two brothers, David Araiza and Eddie Araiza, both of Tucson; four sisters, Rosie Thornton of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Olga Ornelas of Casa Grande, Willie Madrid of Tucson and Enedina Lara of Casa Grande; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Araiza and Josephina Orozco; one brother, Joe Araiza and one sister, Helen Villarreal.
J. Warren Funeral Services Cole & Maud Gardens Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Donations to the Traditions of Faith Campaign at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church may be made in lieu of flowers.
