Eugene Robert Ward, 41, of Casa Grande, AZ passed away on October 10, 2021. He is survived by his wife Lauren Ward, stepdaughter Abigail Kissinger, parents Eugene and Susan Ward, father-in-law and mother-in-law Jim and Darla Anders, grandmother Dolores Szpara, sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Scott Raymond, sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Miguel Pascual, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sarah and Steve Pratt, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Heather Francois, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael Francois and Grace Green.

He is also survived by beloved nephews and nieces: Ethan Raymond, Joseph Raymond, Miguel Pascual Jr., Miliana Pascual, Cadence Pratt, Riley Pratt, Brooke Francois, Steven Francois, Thomas Francois, Isabella Francois, James Francois and Lilian Green as well as many family, friends, and loved ones.

Eugene is a graduate of Alden Senior High School, Alden NY (1998) and Erie Community College Criminal Justice Program (2001). During his school years, Eugene was active in baseball, wrestling, football, bowling, cub scouts, middle and high school band, camping, and canoeing.

After 9/11, Eugene enlisted in the 152 Engineer Battalion from Connecticut Street Armory in Buffalo, NY. He completed basic and A.I.T. Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Eugene served active duty helping to provide security at the World Trade Center during cleanup and reconstruction alongside NYPD.

Eugene was deployed to Iraq where he served as a combat engineer and gunner on a Humvee crew, receiving the Purple Heart as the result of an I.E.D attack while on patrol. After his yearlong deployment, Eugene returned home in 2006.
Eugene has been a Casa Grande Police Officer for 15 years.

We are very proud of Eugene’s service in the military and as a police officer serving our country and community. He was and is loved by all of his family, friends, co-workers, and loved ones. We will miss his energy and enthusiastic approach to life.
Rosary will be at 9:30 AM and Mass at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 201 N Picacho St, Casa Grande, AZ 85122. Reception to follow at J Warren Memorial Garden, 525 N Peart Rd, Casa Grande, AZ 85122.
