Esteban Xavier Mercado

February 23, 1988 — June 14, 2020

Esteban was born in Florence, Arizona on February 23, 1988 and passed away Sunday morning, June 14, 2020 in Casa Grande, Arizona at age 32. Growing up, Esteban took a very big part in the Catholic Church St. Helen’s of Eloy, serving as an altar boy for several years. He graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School. With his love for music, he played in the Mariachi Band throughout high school and received a scholarship to CAC where he majored in music for two years, being extremely passionate about it.
Esteban worked for Core Civic for 11 years, becoming a Sergeant in 2018 and making many friendships along the way. Stevie was the heart of his family and had a special way to make everyone have a good laugh. He had a love for many things such as the New England Patriots, WWE, getting crazy tattoos and hanging out with his friends and family. He got up early to have breakfast at his favorite restaurant, Cracker Barrel, and frequented B-Dubs after work with his friends.
But most of all his love was for his two beautiful children. They were his world and the excitement for the daughter he has on the way was already loved so much by him. His memory will live on through his children and his family.
Survivors: father (Al Jimenez) of Casa Grande; mother (Lupe Moncivaiz) of Casa Grande; stepfather (Ramiro Moncivaiz) of Casa Grande; uncle (Steve Mercado) of Eloy; sisters (Jennifer Avila) of Arizona City and (Georgia Moncivaiz) of Casa Grande; stepbrother (Jaime Moncivaiz) of Eloy; half-brother (Antonio Jimenez) of Eloy; children (Ava and Stevie Jr. Mercado) of Casa Grande; girlfriend (Oneyda Moreno) carrying his daughter (Kairi Luna Mercado); and many cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.
