Ernestine Marquez

SAN LUCY — Ernestine Genevieve "Ernie" Marquez, 56, of San Lucy, a former chairwoman of the Tohono O'odham Nation's San Lucy District, died on June 28, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
The wake will begin at 6 p.m. today at San Lucy Catholic Mission, with funeral Mass celebrated at 7 p.m. by Deacon Bill DeMarco. Burial will be early Saturday in Pioneer Cemetery.
Ms. Marquez was born on Sept. 9, 1955, in Sacaton.
Survivors include a daughter, Andrea M. Rizo of San Lucy; two brothers, Gregory Marquez of Phoenix and Eric Marquez of Hickiwan; two sisters, Cassandra Marquez of Tucson and Bonnie Manuel of San Lucy; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clemencia A. Marquez.
