Eliza M. Cruz

AK-CHIN, Tohono O'odham Nation - Eliza M. Cruz, 85, died Dec. 5, 2008 at Odyssey Hospice.


Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at her home. Rosary and Mass will begin at 7 p.m. at St. Seraphin Catholic Mission. The Rev. Tom Frost will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Ak-Chin Cemetery.

Ms. Cruz was born in Ak-Chin. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed basket weaving, bingo, traditional Indian cooking, music, singing and children. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Juan of Anegam, Marian J. Cruz of Ak-Chin and Doreen R. Antone of Hickiwan; two sons, Simon A. Cruz of Coolidge and Daniel Cruz of Ak-Chin; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
