Eleanor Locke Blackler

July 9, 1909 — March 25, 2005

Born in Lockeport, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was a registered nurse. She married Dr. Chesley F Blackler in 1938 and moved to Arizona in the mind-40's to escape the cold weather. They moved to Florence, where her husband was Pinal County Health Director. In the 70's she worked for Pinal General Hospital and later became supervisor of a longterm-care unit in Casa Grande. She was an avid Bridge player, and achieved Life Master staus, continuing to play until her death. She was hardy, and considered her stamina to be a gift. She enjoyed hiking, camping and river tubing into her 80's. She loved life and was an inspiration.
