Dora Miles

November 23, 1921 — September 20, 2011

LOWER SANTAN — Dora Miles, 89, died on Sept. 20, 2011, at home.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Miles home. The funeral will be at 6 a.m. Saturday at Lower Santan Presbyterian Church, with Loretta Blackwater officiating. Burial will be in Lower Santan Cemetery.
Ms. Miles was born on Nov. 23, 1921, in Sacaton and was a daughter of Joseph H. Miles and Susie Blaine. She was an elementary school teaching assistant and a member of Lower Santan Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, travel and gardening and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for planning family celebrations.
Survivors include eight daughters, Patty Allison and Claudina A. Rodriguez of Lower Santan, Susan Allison and Harriet James of Sacaton Flats, Jennifer Allison of Lower Santan, Noreen A. Lasiloo of Stotonic, Angelia Allison and Doris Allison-Sabori of Lower Santan; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond Armstrong, Richard and Roe B. Lewis and Fredrick Miles; two sisters, Nora Miles and Margorie Antone; and four grandchildren, Raymond, Genevieve and Arnold Manuel and Micco Sabori.
