Donald Mehringer

ARIZONA CITY - Donald Edward "Don" Mehringer, 86, of Arizona City died on Aug. 27, 2014, at home.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande, with rosary recited at 10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 by the Rev. Ariel Lustan. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mr. Mehringer was born on July 18, 1928, in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and was a son of John Mehringer and Norella Zimmerman. He was a farmer. A member of St. Anthony’s Church, he was a loving family man. He took pride and joy in his family and especially his grandchildren, who knew him as "Papa." He was an animal lover and enjoyed caring for animals.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; three sons, Ken Mehringer of Wisconsin, Dan and Ron Mehringer of Casa Grande; two daughters, Diane Starits of Tucson and Joanne Todd of Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Schauf, and a son, Jon Mehringer.
