Diane Albert

CHUICHU VILLAGE - Diane Louise Albert, 66, died on May 31, 2015, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chuichu Village. The wake will follow at 8 at the Albert home. Burial will be in Chuichu North Cemetery.

Mrs. Albert was born on May 13, 1949, in Chuichu and was a daughter of Jesus Pancho and Catherine Thomas. She was an educational assistant at Sif Oidak Headstart on the Tohono O’odham Nation, then worked with special-needs children in Casa Grande and then at Desert Vision Wellness Center on the Gila River Indian Community with teenage children, retiring after 15 years.

She was a big Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed reading, playing games on her phone, crossword puzzles and listening to gospel music.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel C.; four daughters, Nina M. Mons, Norma Martinez and Bonita, all of Casa Grande, and Viola Martinez-Soke of Ahwatukee; two sons, Orlando Martinez of Casa Grande and Paul Martinez of Gilbert; three sisters, Violet Miguel and Darlene Albert of Chuichu and Rosie Moya of Casa Grande; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Reynold Martinez.
