Dennis Richard Pressler

January 27, 1942 — July 10, 2021

A man dedicated to his family, Dennis Richard Pressler, 79, left us on July 10, 2021.
Denny was born January 27, 1942 in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Selby, South Dakota during his youth, punctuated by a notable athletic career that included a 100-yd dash school record that stood for decades, along with multiple football and basketball championships. After graduating from the University of South Dakota in the mid-60s, Denny was briefly an educator and successful high school coach. He relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and later the Chicago suburbs while employed by Allstate Insurance where he enjoyed a 28 year career as a Trainer and Senior Project Manager. After retirement, he made his home first in Denver, CO and later in the Arizona desert.

Along with Bea, his wife of nearly 40 years, Denny enjoyed a variety of pursuits. The snow of the Colorado Rockies fed his love of skiing, where one winter he managed almost 60 days on the slopes. He eagerly anticipated his annual pheasant hunting trip to Selby. S.D.; his annual trip to the College World Series in Omaha where he was joined by some of his former athletes; and an annual golf trip with his good buddies every spring. Whether or not he perfected his golf game will be a topic for friends and family to discuss as they remember him fondly. Most will recall his wide smile and cheerful manner, his encouraging words, and his gently guiding hands and advice.

Denny is survived by his wife Roberta (Bea); children Greg Pressler, and Amy Huber (Jeff); six grandchildren: Jaden, Carson, Kai, Maya, Cole, and Martin; and a brother Tim as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Manny and Ellie Pressler, a brother Gary and sister Val.
