Delores Reading

Delores Elaine Reading, 89, of Casa Grande died on April 25, 2013, at Medisys Assisted Living.
The celebration of life will be at noon May 11 at Medisys, 1301 N. Park Ave.
Mrs. Reading was born on Feb. 13, 1924, in Hot Springs, S.D., and was a daughter of Benjamin M. Dilley and Margarete Renz. Her mother died when Mrs. Reading was 12, and she raised her brother John, who was 1 year old at the time. She was a nursing assistant and factory worker and graduated from auctioneer school in 1975.
She loved music and especially dancing. She was a member of Desert Country Musicians and enjoyed swimming, all kinds of crafts and painting with acrylics. She was a good cook and was a charismatic, loving, quick-witted and fun-loving person.
Survivors include her husband of 70-plus years, whom she met on a blind date and who proposed to her after five weeks, Virgil; three daughters, Marjorie Reading of Casa Grande, Marlene Reading and Dixie Lee Knokey of Washington; a brother, John P. Dilley of Washington; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Bates, and two brothers, Robert and James Dilley.
