David Ramirez

March 23, 1940 — December 22, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family shares the passing of David Ramirez of Florence, AZ on December 22, 2021 at the age of 81.

David was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor with his brother, Louis where they played 3rd base and shortstop for the Naval baseball team. In high school he was honored to be a member of the 1958 Rock Falls Rockets state basketball team. He still enjoyed golfing regularly. He was a die hard Cubs fan and was so excited to see them finally win the World Series.

After being discharged from the Navy he moved to California where he worked for the Southern California Gas Company until retirement.

David will lovingly be remembered by his siblings Angie (Ron) Johnson, Rene (Robin) Aguilera, Sylvia (Larry) Hart. He will also be lovingly remembered by special friend of 40 years Jessica Ramirez, children Gregg Sandoval, Amanda Griffin, and Erika Stroum. He had a special love for his grandchildren Allie, Kaitlin, Aaron, Cami, Jensen, Jaxson, Brianna, Sydney, Jordin, Matthew, and Skylar. His many nieces and nephews will miss their beloved Uncle Dave.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Manuel and Beatrice Garcia, his parents Salud Mary Castro and Louis Ramirez Sr and brother Chuck Aguilera. David and his brother Louis passed together on December 22 due to differing health complications.

Internment will be at Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at Marana on January 3rd with military honors.
