BLACKWATER - Darlene Joyce Eschief Groves, 62, of Gallup, N.M., died May 28, 2009 in Gallup.


Visitation was from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday at the District 1 Service Center. The funeral was at 6 a.m. Tuesday at Blackwater Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Jacobs Sr. officiating. Burial was in North Blackwater Cemetery.

Ms. Groves was born in Sacaton and was a daughter of Raymond and Julie Eschief. She was a jewelry maker.

Survivors include two sisters, Sharon Gonzales of Laveen and Linda Eschief Berrera of Ak-Chin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Eschief, and two brothers, Francis C. and Raymond Eschief Jr.
