Concha Abiles

January 10, 1925 — January 9, 2013

Concepcion "Concha" Abiles, 87, entered into eternity on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Hospice Family Center in Casa Grande, after a long illness.
She is survived by five children, Pasqual and Connie Abiles of Coolidge; Angie Ortiz of Tucson; Helen Mendoza of Tucson; Diane and Mark Curfman of Clovis, California; and Michael Abiles of Casa Grande. Concha had 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a great number of beloved family members and friends.
Born and raised in Medina County, Texas, she was the daughter of Abraham and Josefina Hernandez. Concha moved to Eloy, Arizona with
her family in 1948. In her early years, Concha worked and raised her family in Casa Grande, and moved to Tucson in 1964. She completed her education and achieved her Associates Degree in nursing. Concha went on to work in several nursing facilities and hospitals until she moved back to Casa Grande in
the 1990s. She served as a Licensed Practical Nurse in and around the Coolidge and Casa Grande area until her retirement. Concha was a great cook, an avid reader, and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of being a Texan and will always be remembered for her love of life and wonderful smile.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with 7 p.m. Rosary at Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, January 17 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Father JoJo Tabo is officiating. Burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Casa Grande.
