Concepcion Alejandro

Concepcion Torres "Concha" Alejandro, 93, of Casa Grande died peacefully on March 6, 2015, at Hospice of the Valley Friendship Village in Tempe, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mrs. Alejandro was born on Aug. 15, 1921, in Del Rio, Texas, and was a daughter of Maximo and Socorro Torres. She was a homemaker who was dedicated to her family and a wonderful cook who welcomed everyone into her home.

Survivors include seven sons, Ruben, Larry and Victor Alejandro Jr., all of Casa Grande, Pete Alejandro of Peoria, Mayolo Alejandro of Victorville, California, Rudy Alejandro of Queen Creek and Robert Alejandro of Avondale; five daughters, Mary Galvan of Yuma, Margaret Moreno of Nipomo, California, Esperanza McCann of Phoenix, Gloria Allen of Salinas, California, and Blanca Richards of Tempe; two sisters, Josie Flores of Santa Clara, California, and Pauline Rocha of San Jose, California; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Victoriano "Victor," in 2000; a son, Victor Alejandro; a brother, Rodolfo Torres; and three sisters, Lily Rodriguez, Maria Apodaca and Margarita Perez.
