Christine Carpio

SACATON - Christine Carpio, 73, of Sacaton died on March 25, 2014, at home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 3 Service Center, with rosary recited at 6. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Mission in Sacaton by Monsignor Richard Moyer. Burial will be in Sacaton Flats Cemetery.

Mrs. Carpio was born on July 20, 1940, in Sacaton and was a daughter of Peter Miguel and Lucy Kelly. She was a homemaker and did an excellent job of providing child care for many children. She enjoyed family get-togethers and helping her church, St. Anthony Mission. She spoke Pima, English and Spanish fluently.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Filiberto "Robert," and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alexander and Dennis Miguel, and three sisters, Matilda and Mildred Saiza and Bridget Harvey.
