Ms. Olson was born on Sept. 8, 1922, in Saginaw, Michigan, and was a daughter of Eugene Barden and Vivian Grove. Her family was involved in motion pictures, and she tap-danced at age 16 at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. She attended Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles and was valedictorian. She married Gerald Robert Olson in New York in the early 1940s. Loving interior decorating, she worked in that field, able to design about anything.

She was a Girl Scout leader and loved her time with her girls. At 92 she could still recite the Gettysburg Address, Preamble to the U.S. Constitution and sonnets from Shakespeare. History was a passion for her, and she taught Bile school and vacation Bible school. She was devoted to her family, very sweet, soft spoken and caring.

She is survived by two daughters, Chelley F. Hauser and Debra Walker of Casa Grande, and was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Robert Olson.
